Happy New Year!

January 1, 2016 10

Downtown Denver

What a year 2015 has been. I wish you all the best in 2016 and I look forward taking more photos and writing more articles in regards to the construction, architecture, and real estate news that impacts Denver’s Urban fabric.

I own a book that holds a collection of quotes from everyone’s favorite television neighbor Mr. Rogers. Just the other day I revisited this book and one of the quotes stood out to me:

“The urge to make and build seems to be an almost universal human characteristic. It goes way beyond meeting our need for survival and seems to be the expression of some deep-rooted part of being human. It isn’t surprising then that these acts of creation should be such a large part of children’s play. But we don’t have to understand all of someone else’s creative efforts. What’s important is that we communicate our respects for their attempts to express what’s inside themselves.”

– Fred Rogers

The Denver Skyline has noticeably evolved in the last 365 days. The impact of 1401 Lawrence and SkyHouse Denver on the urban fabric can now be felt. By this time next year The Confluence and 1144 Fifteenth Street will also be greatly contributing to the Denver Skyline.

As 2016 gets underway I want to thank everyone that has provided encouraging and affable words in 2015. The kind words that I received over the the last 365 days from readers meant a great deal to me. That sentiment is a reminder to all of us– if you see a cool video on youtube, read a helpful article, see a beautiful photo, or listen to a song that brightens your day– no matter what the topic, drop that person a quick note letting them know you appreciate their efforts.

I greatly appreciate all the folks in the construction, architecture, and real estate community that have graciously provided renderings, information and tours of their projects. Without their cooperation Denver Urban Review would not be possible.

Your site is a first rate resource and the frequency of updates, the quality of the photography and the insightful writing show the amount of effort you put into this work. Spending weeks at a time away from Denver; your site is my link back to downtown and your monthly updates are most keenly awaited.

    Grateful thanks for you work.
