Mile High Center

December 2, 2018 2

Here is a look at Denver’s Mile High Center. This 23-story building was Denver’s first modern high-rise. The building is located at 1700 Broadway in Downtown Denver. Mile High Center was designed by the world-renowned architect I. M. Pei. The building was completed in 1954.

The Broe Companies purchased the building in 2004 which contains nearly 400,000 square feet of office space. Before that the building was owned by pension fund TIAA-CREF.

I. M. Pei is still alive at the age of 101. Pei’s architectural firm(I.M. Pei & Partners) was also involved in the design of Downtown Denver’s 16th Street mall which opened in 1982.
