This morning an excavator began tearing up the parking lot located at 15th and California in downtown Denver. A construction fence on the property has also been erected.
This is the site of White Lodging’s planned dual-brand AC Hotel by Marriott and a Starwood-branded Le Meridien Hotel. An opening is expected in 2017 for this project. This hotel will rise to 20 floors once complete.
Denver Urban Review (DUR) has contacted White Lodging to see if they would like to issue a statement confirming that construction is officially underway. White Lodging said DUR will be contacted for future announcements on this project. However, they did not comment on the construction of this hotel project.
This project will rise at 15th and California and will consist of 491 rooms between the two hotel brands. With the Colorado Convention center just one block away.
Each brand will have a separate lobby and entrance. Le Meridien will provide more than 8,000 –square-feet of space for meetings and events. The Le Meridien Hotel will offer 272 rooms, a 24 hour fitness center and a full-service restaurant.
White Lodging developed the dual-brand Hyatt House and Hyatt Place hotel on 14th and Glenarm Place which is expected to open this November.
